 <title>Home Decoration Takes a new Dimension with Personal Large Format Prints Online</title>
 <link>http://www.socialbc.com/en/node/102586</link>
 <description>Online poster and canvas services will usually only print the customer&amp;rsquo;s image. FotoInsight is launching its new &amp;ldquo;Deco Shop&amp;rdquo;, where a matching, natural wood frame can be combined with a mounted canvas or laminated poster. Large format prints from own digital photographs will then be delivered mounted and framed, ready to decorate the wall at home or in an office.
Cambridge. 7 November 2008. &amp;ndash; The resolution of digital cameras is rising constantly. Many digital photographs could impress at home or in an office meeting room, when printed as a laminated poster or a stretched canvas in a floating frame. With the right image it makes a worthy present.
FotoInsight, a specialist serving amateur and professional photographers alike, prints canvases in different sizes from 20x30 cm / 12&amp;rdquo;x8&amp;rdquo; (minimum resolution 800 x 1100 pixel) to 60x80 cm / 32&amp;rdquo;x24&amp;rdquo; (2500 x 3300 pixel recommended). FotoInsight states that it uses man made optimised fibres and fade-resistant &amp;quot;archival&amp;quot; inks to guarantee longevity and brilliant colours. The hi-tech inks penetrate deep into the fabric and can therefore be printed and mounted over the edges of the wooden frame. Standardised sizes allow a largely automatic production process. According to FotoInsight this ensures constant quality and long durability at lower prices for the first time.

 <title>The Isis Puzzle and Adventure a brand new game and puzzle concept</title>
 <link>http://www.socialbc.com/en/node/102071</link>
 <description>The ISIS I Puzzle &amp;amp; Adventure&amp;nbsp;The ISIS is an interactive mind puzzle which involves players having to open an alloy ball which is constructed in layers and covered in hieroglyphics. &amp;nbsp;Each ISIS is unique and requires a different combination to open it.
Crack the combination and you&#039;ll reveal a special key inside, which has a number stamped on it. The key will open one of the ISIS golden pyramids which are hidden in secret locations throughout Europe. Each pyramid contains a gold coin worth &amp;pound;500 and a number of silver coins worth &amp;pound;20 each!
The ISIS Adventure is a race against time, players will be able to get clues from the games&#039; website to help them in their quest to unlock the mystery and find the hidden treasure. This is the first in a series of 5 ISIS puzzles to be launched, each presenting more advanced and challenging stages than the previous one.
&amp;quot;The ISIS is the result of years of research and development and is completely original. There are literally millions of combinations and the game promises to challenge the most astute and intellectual of minds. Once you pick one of these things up, it becomes a real obsession and you just can&#039;t put it down until you crack the code....but that may never happen!&amp;quot;Andrew Reeves (creator)The ISIS is engineered out of a high quality alloy and is beautifully presented in a solid wooden box with a high polish finish.

 <title>UK Photographic Calendar Test</title>
 <link>http://www.socialbc.com/en/node/94979</link>
 <description>The best way to create a calendar with your own photographs
 There are three different ways to make your own photo calendar. If you have many photo prints which you prefer to stick onto paper and if you want to add hand drawn images, an old style pre-printed calendar template will still be useful. More versatile and interesting is making photographic calendars through software, and the result looks most professional when printed by a proper photo service. For this you normally have to use the software which the (online) photolab provides (usually) for free at http://fotoinsight.co.uk/calendar

FotoInsight offers wall and desktop calendars. All calendars are printed professionally on 250 gr/m2 paper using Indigo technology (except the Desktop calendar in tin box which is processed on photographic paper) and cost between &amp;pound;4.99 and &amp;pound;16.99 per calendar plus &amp;pound;2.80 delivery (Europa wide, also with seperate delivery address).

 <title>Buying jewellery online with The Jewellery Channel</title>
 <link>http://www.socialbc.com/en/node/92290</link>
 <description>The Jewellery Channel offers its customers the chance to experience a whole new way of shopping for jewellery
The Jewellery Channel brings its customers the best quality jewellery at the most competitive price. As part of one of the largest jewellers in the world, The Jewellery Channel pursues a business strategy which is unique
The Jewellery Channel as part of one of the largest jewellers in the world, has workshops in India, Thailand and China. The Jewellery Channel is responsible for its jewellery from the moment it is mined to the moment it arrives at the customers home.
The Jewellery Channel is the first TV-channel in the UK which exclusively occupies itself with the topic of buying jewellery and makes buying jewellery easy and simple.The Jewellery Channel broadcasts live 16 hours a day where the most exquisite and precious jewellery is offered for sale. All it needs is either a telephone or a computer to go online with.
With its unique business strategy, auctionning, The Jewellery Channel clearly stands out from the crowd. The two auction formats, falling price auctions and rapid drop auctions give the customer the opportunity to decide on his or her own what price he or she is willing to pay. The falling price auction means that the customer decides the price, which keeps falling until one customer decides to buy the piece of jewellery. Rapid drop auction however means that The Jewellery Channel drops the price of the specific jewellery once to its lowest price. Both auction formats demand rapidness &amp;ndash; first come first served.

 <link>http://www.socialbc.com/en/node/92217</link>
 <description>PRINTplusX at the Berlin Brandenburg Direct Marketing Congress

PrintCity and the f:mp. will be presenting &amp;quot;PRINTplusX &amp;ndash; The Secrets of Value Added Printing&amp;quot; at the Berlin Brandenburg Direct Marketing Congress (bbdt), a supraregional trade show for contemporary direct marketing.
&amp;nbsp;
On 18 September, top speakers from the bbdt will be demonstrating how companies can most effectively achieve their marketing and advertising targets. &amp;quot;High-quality print products play a major role in this respect,&amp;quot; says Anke B&amp;ouml;ckmann (UPM), the PRINTplusX Project Manager for PrintCity. &amp;quot;So, in addition to our Workshop Road Shows, this event is an ideal opportunity for communicating the PRINTplusX project to our target group, who will also be in attendance at directexpo.&amp;quot;
&amp;nbsp;
PRINTplusX addresses the question of how high-quality printed materials contribute to the branding, differentiation and positioning of products and brands. In this context, attention particularly focuses on the measurable impact of Value Added Printing.
&amp;nbsp;
Based on numerous case studies, the possibilities and effective principles of Value Added Printing are presented in the Workshop and vividly illustrated by print samples.
Further all-day PRINTplusX Workshops are to be held in Offenbach on 14 August and in Essen on 19 August. You can register at contact@PRINTplusX.org .
&amp;nbsp;
This year&#039;s 4th Berlin Brandenburg Direct Marketing Congress will be held at the Berlin exhibition centre on 18 September within the framework of directexpo, the trade show for direct marketing (17 &amp;ndash; 19 September 2008). You can register at http://www.bbdt.de/anmeldung.html .
&amp;nbsp;
&amp;nbsp;
PRINTplusX is a joint project of PrintCity and the f:mp. (Fachverband Medienproduktioner e.V.) media marketing organisation. The project targets brand owners, industry, publishing houses, agencies and printers, its aim being to present the possibilities of Value Added Printing and make the added value of high-quality print products both demonstrable and measurable. A communication platform for all the players involved in the process is created through workshops and the Internet.

And that is the reason why it is so interesting which types and forms of letter boxes there are and what design is most suitable for what function. Tobias Berke can help in an informative and entertaining way. The category &amp;ldquo;historical&amp;rdquo; tells worth knowing and amusing about the history of the letter box. &amp;ldquo;Letter box models&amp;rdquo; make clear in how many shapes and styles letter boxes can appear. The assorted &amp;bdquo;manufacturing techniques&amp;ldquo; deal with the technical basic raw materials stainless steel, plastic, aluminium cast and galvanized steel. Also &amp;ldquo;special letter boxes&amp;rdquo; have a chapter of their own &amp;ndash; here you may find for example the night letterbox. And who would have thought that a &amp;ldquo;dead Letter box&amp;rdquo; can be very vivid as the corresponding history shows divertingly. <title>1001 Jackets in the Internet</title>
 <link>http://www.socialbc.com/en/node/92044</link>
 <description>In the movie &amp;ldquo;Aviator&amp;rdquo; Leonardo DiCaprio embodies the dazzling and even mysterious character of the eccentric millionaire and visionary Howard Hughes. Following a real oil painting that shows the aviation obsessed man with a greasy pilot leather jacket the actor was dressed with a brown leather blouson made by a known manufacturer. And it happened what happens often in such moments: Leo&amp;rsquo;s leather jacket become a fashionable cult object over night. All viewers that had enjoyed the movie wanted to have such a jacket.

Funny enough that the real Howard Hughes probably never had a jacket like this. But that did not do the strong demand any harm. And so the pilot jacket became the secret movie star. As you can see the topic jackets is full of surprises and amusing stories. And the internet makes you wish for more. The portal http://www.jacken4you.de pays attention to this piece of clothing with the categories baseball jackets, blazer, down jackets, fleeces, flight jackets in general, jeans jackets, hood jackets, leather jackets, biker jackets, outdoor jackets, rain coats, retro jackets, sports coats, ski coats, summer jackets, sports jackets, autumnal jackets, windproof jackets and winter jackets. The exciting stories about the stylish never ending topic were mixed up with an entertaining sort of &amp;ldquo;nice to know&amp;rdquo;. At the category &amp;ldquo;others&amp;rdquo; related topics are introduced (for example jewellery and bargains). Here you may also find the surprisingly easy way to get jackets for one Euro. <title>Successful Start of the PRINTplusX Workshop Series</title>
 <link>http://www.socialbc.com/en/node/91802</link>
 <description>Successful Start of the PRINTplusX Workshop Series

In the framework of the PrintCity Alliance / f.mp. shared PRINTplusX Project, over 100 representatives from all segments of the graphic arts industry met at the first two Workshops in Augsburg (10 July) and Hamburg (15 July) to discuss the possibilities of Value Added Printing.
&amp;nbsp;
The main focus was on the impact and benefit of high-quality print products for differentiating and positioning brands and products.
&amp;nbsp;
&amp;quot;The project and the workshop concept are obviously just what the industry was waiting for.&amp;quot; That is the first conclusion drawn by Anke B&amp;ouml;ckmann (UPM), the PRINTplusX Project Manager for PrintCity. &amp;quot;One thing became very clear: there&#039;s a great demand for expertise and for an exchange of experience and information between all concerned.&amp;quot;
&amp;nbsp;
This view is also confirmed by Martin R. Rossmeissl, Head of Production at Publicis in Hamburg: &amp;quot;All the players involved gained a better understanding of the (creative) idea. In future Publicis customer projects, we will definitely make even greater use of the expertise of all the project partners in order to optimally present the value of our customers&#039; brands and also convey it emotionally. There&#039;s no question of just using value added techniques for the sake of &amp;lsquo;value added&amp;rsquo;.&amp;quot;
&amp;nbsp;
The morning was devoted to examining value added printing&amp;nbsp; from different angles. Anne Unger from Anne Unger Kommunikation spoke about &amp;quot;Print as a Medium for Positioning, Differentiating and Branding&amp;quot;, after which Josef Handlos from Pantos Werbeagentur presented &amp;quot;The Road from the Idea to the Product&amp;quot; in an advertising agency. Klaus Valet from Hammesfahr printers examined &amp;quot;The Changed Role of Printers in the Media World&amp;quot;. His conclusion: &amp;quot;Value Added Printing is an opportunity for the printing industry&amp;quot;.
&amp;nbsp;
Also presented were the initial results of a diploma paper on the measurability of added value, which is currently being prepared in collaboration with Stuttgart Media University (Hochschule der Medien).
&amp;nbsp;
The diverse possibilities offered by finishing technologies and materials were subsequently actively elaborated on the basis of concrete cases in small working groups. The results of these creative efforts were then discussed, particularly as regards their technical and economic feasibility.
&amp;nbsp;
&amp;quot;I particularly liked the creative exchange of experience in the Workshop Groups. The great variety of suggestions I heard during the presentation of the results gave me a number of new ideas for print finishing,&amp;quot; says J&amp;ouml;rg Nagel (media production professional) from Philipp und Keuntje. &amp;quot;A mastery of this finishing toolkit is indispensable for picking just the right solution in a specific instance.&amp;quot;
&amp;nbsp;
For more information, go to: www.PRINTplusX.com
Details of the agenda can be found at: www.PRINTplusX.com/de/agenda .
&amp;nbsp;
The next Workshops in the series:
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; 14 August in Offenbach
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; 19 August in Essen
There are still a few places for both events.
&amp;nbsp;
Kindly register via contact@PRINTplusX.org or by telephone on +49 821 24654-0.
&amp;nbsp;

 <title>The Jewellery Channel presents one of the purest metals on earth - platinum</title>
 <link>http://www.socialbc.com/en/node/91067</link>
 <description>&lt;img width=&quot;289&quot; height=&quot;104&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; src=&quot;/UserFiles/logo-jewellery(2).jpg&quot; /&gt;
Known and famous for its durability and resistance, platinum has become one of the most used materials for jewellery fabrication
Misjudged and unnoticed in the first place, did platinum only in the 18th century arouse peoples interest and became a famous material not only for jewellery fabrication
The History of Platinum
Platinum has actually been used for different purposes since 3000 b.C., interestingly unnoticed. In ancient Egyptian jewellery researcher found small amounts of platinum. Also Indians in South America took advantage of the positive features of platinum in combination with gold dust, unknowingly though. Later, in the 17th century platinum was found an annoying corollary material and people even thought about countersinking it in the ocean to eliminate smuggling and forgery, since people started manufacturing it to sell it as gold. Only in the 18th century did people discover the posisite features of platinum and made use of it.
