The Jewellery Channel offers its customers the chance to experience a whole new way of shopping for jewellery

The Jewellery Channel brings its customers the best quality jewellery at the most competitive price. As part of one of the largest jewellers in the world, The Jewellery Channel pursues a business strategy which is unique

The Jewellery Channel as part of one of the largest jewellers in the world, has workshops in India, Thailand and China. The Jewellery Channel is responsible for its jewellery from the moment it is mined to the moment it arrives at the customers home.

The Jewellery Channel is the first TV-channel in the UK which exclusively occupies itself with the topic of buying jewellery and makes buying jewellery easy and simple.
The Jewellery Channel broadcasts live 16 hours a day where the most exquisite and precious jewellery is offered for sale. All it needs is either a telephone or a computer to go online with.

With its unique business strategy, auctionning, The Jewellery Channel clearly stands out from the crowd. The two auction formats, falling price auctions and rapid drop auctions give the customer the opportunity to decide on his or her own what price he or she is willing to pay.
The falling price auction means that the customer decides the price, which keeps falling until one customer decides to buy the piece of jewellery. Rapid drop auction however means that The Jewellery Channel drops the price of the specific jewellery once to its lowest price. Both auction formats demand rapidness – first come first served.

Explosive atmosphere? No problem! Now new: container checking and laning in the Ex area

Fill level detection and container laning - this also functions in an "explosive atmosphere" with immediate effect:  HEUFT SYSTEMTECHNIK GMBH has developed a device variant which fulfils the ATEX criteria for use in potentially explosive areas.  The HEUFT VX for ATEX operates in the aerosol and spirits industry just as safely as in other filling sections where a dangerous mixture of air and gas can form.

It ensures that an explosion does not occur:  only devices with an Ex marking may be operated in potentially explosive areas.  For this they have to comply with the European explosion protection directives 94/92/EG and 1999/92/EG which are also known under the abbreviation ATEX "Atmosphère Explosible".  These strict requirements are fulfilled by both the new HEUFT VX modules for detecting fill levels and laning containers to an extremely high degree:  they operate with complete safety even in an "explosive atmosphere".

Fill level detection and container laning in the Ex area

The fill level detection checks whether spray cans and other containers are overfilled or underfilled using radiometric measurements.  The results are analysed, deviations from an average value are represented graphically and containers with an incorrect fill level are rejected directly.  This keeps false filling at an extremely low level and guarantees product quality with lasting effect.  The other ATEX module separates the container flow on up to three lanes - for instance before a packer.  The allocation ratio can be freely selected.  Jam switches ensure an even working load:  full lines are automatically identified and excluded from the laning process.  This increases the efficiency of the complete equipment.

ATEX devices with heat and spark protection

The HEUFT development team has made it possible for the ATEX devices supplied by HEUFT to also operate in filling sections where an explosive mixture of air and gas can occur by strictly separating the control unit and the container detection.  Whereas the former is outside the hazard zone the latter can operate without any problems and safely in an ATEX group II, Category 3 risk area.  Then regardless of whether it is heat, electric or electrostatic energy:  the detections are optimally protected.

Source of danger eliminated: New bottle burst detection now available!

Great risk potential: It is no longer a secret that bottles which burst during the filling process can contaminate other containers with flying pieces of glass. Total bursts are reliably detected. However this is not always the case if only individual parts are burst away.

The remaining part already suffices in order to simulate an intact bottle as regards the filler. By the time a fill level detection identifies such a container further circuits have already been filled and glass splinters which could have entered the filler valve due to the bottle burst may have already entered other containers.

Shower removes glass splinters from the filler valve

HEUFT SYSTEMTECHNIK GMBH has developed the extended bottle burst detection on the basis of these findings. An acoustic sensor listens to the filler specifically for bottle bursts. The shower function of the filler is activated and the glass splinters are removed from the filler valves when it detects a suspicious noise.

At the same time a purposeful search begins for an underfilled bottle. A completely new algorithm from HEUFT provides the clear filling position of the bottle burst and activates the standard protocol when one is found. This also reliably rejects the adjacent containers as well as those products which were filled by this valve during the successive circuits.

Vietnam Vice President honors Ethanol & Disabled Children/Orphans Project

Report from Executive Director of Our Family Orphan Communities, Inc, on progress with Vietnam Ethanol & Orphans/Disabled Children Project

I have just returned from a trip to Vietnam to see the progress of our project with our partners, the Vietnam Aid Society for Disabled Children (VASDC) and am pleased to be able to report the progress that has been made.

For the last year, our team leader, Mr. Ngon, has been holding meetings with government ministries, officials, private organizations and supporters and has kept things going.

In this photo, he is seen with the President of Vietnam, Nguyen Minh Triet.

While in business, it is rare that itineraries ever go exactly as planned, Mr. Ngon's flexibility and tenacity got us to the people we needed to see and the support that we need to proceed.

A key meeting on this trip was being received by Vice President of Vietnam, Nguyen Thi Doan.

It was wonderful to hear her comments, compliments and support for this project.

Within 4 hours of our meeting, it was on the national television news and the next day in the newspapers. Since then we have already been receiving emails and inquiries from people in other countries as the internet propagates the story.

The public presentation of this project speaks to the commitment that people have to make it happen.

Last year I leaned that the former Vice President of Vietnam, Truong My Hoa, was very involved with VASDC and its activities to help the disabled children.

This trip, in a meeting with Professor Thu, the head of VASDC (and teacher of doctors of acupuncture in several countries), staff of VASDC/HSC and supporters,  I also had the honor to meet with Madame Hoa to talk about the project. She also continues to provide support to ensure this project becomes a reality.

You may recall that in our photos from last year, Mr. Ngon not only had an audience with the President of Vietnam to talk about the project, but he also was able to get a letter from the Prime Minister's office showing us their support and how to move forward with the project.

With this kind of top-down support, it is not a matter of if this project will succeed, it is just a matter of when.

Not only do we have the political support, we have a commitment to provide the land from Ninh Binh Province.

Visiting this historic site of the first capital of Vietnam after they became independent is awe inspiring,

With the province kindly providing a guide we were able to appreciate the significance of this place.

Our day included meeting province officials, bankers, planners and going to visit the potential site where the refinery can be located.

All of the preparation has been done and the potential site offered, it is now time to move forward.

The next step is to do the on-site design, engineering, environmental, marketing and feasibility studies.

The output of this 3 to 4 month step will be a Bankable Feasibility Study with all the details needed to obtain the licenses and permits required by the investment law of Vietnam. It will also aid us in obtaining the funding needed for the construction.

Funding is needed now to do this step. Our partner organizations in Vietnam, VASDC/HSC, are looking into various alternatives to obtain the funds. Our goal at this time is to obtain $10 million dollars which will allow us to keep moving forward.  We are asking for donations (and loans of collateral), not only from the Vietnamese Community, but from all individuals and organizations that think this is a
worthwhile project.

Your donation will help us to provide:
 - over 500 jobs
 - homes and families for street orphans
 - care for children still being born with birth defects due to agent orange
 - free medical care to local citizens
 - job and computer skills
 - cleaner environment
 - economic stimulus
 - renewable fuel
 - and much more.

You will do this by helping us build a cellulose Ethanol Refinery from which the profits will build a Medical Clinic, Self-sustaining, high-tech Community where orphans are raised in families, provide care and training for disabled children and full scholarships for qualified children. Details are on our website at: www.orphancommunities.org
Donations can be on-line at our website or mailed to our tax-exempt, not-for-profit charity at:
Vietnam Ethanol & Disabled Children/Orphans Project,
Our Family Orphan Communities, Inc. P O Box 906 Alamosa, CO 81101-0906

(Make checks payable to Our Family Orphan Communities, Inc.)
Feel free to check our not-for-profit charity status with the Colorado Secretary of State.
We will provide a tax receipt for all donations.
Feel free to contact us with any questions at: info@orphancommunities.org

We are excited about the progress to date and are looking forward to the ground-breaking in 2008.

And, one more thank you to the Southeast Asia, South Asia &
South Pacific
Department of the External Relations Commission, C.C. CPVn for providing a translator for all of our meetings during this trip. Nguyen Anh Nguyet (Moon) was a wonderful asset to ensure complete understanding in all of our meetings. Thanks Moon for all your help (and tips on protocol)!

Thank you all for your ongoing support for Our Family Orphan Communities, Inc. our partners and our projects.
