UK Photographic Calendar Test

The best way to create a calendar with your own photographs

There are three different ways to make your own photo calendar. If you have many photo prints which you prefer to stick onto paper and if you want to add hand drawn images, an old style pre-printed calendar template will still be useful. More versatile and interesting is making photographic calendars through software, and the result looks most professional when printed by a proper photo service. For this you normally have to use the software which the (online) photolab provides (usually) for free at http://fotoinsight.co.uk/calendar

FotoInsight offers wall and desktop calendars. All calendars are printed professionally on 250 gr/m2 paper using Indigo technology (except the Desktop calendar in tin box which is processed on photographic paper) and cost between £4.99 and £16.99 per calendar plus £2.80 delivery (Europa wide, also with seperate delivery address).

Printing-1 is the independent option for photo book calendars for Mac OS and Windows PC users, but no wall calendars. Printing-1 websites includes a kind of photo sharing service, which allows to show the layout to others online prior to a print order: http://www.printing-1.co.uk - Discount: First order £5 off.

ECCE TERRAM to Showcase Innovative Solutions for Digital Photo Processing Services at PMA in Las Vegas

Specialist developer ECCE TERRAM is showing at this year’s PMA how setting up a digital photo processing service in store or online is becoming easier with open software modules. ECCE TERRAM is also celebrating a new mile stone with 132 million photo prints being ordered through its middleware software components. These solutions help to improve photo services' independence and negotiation power and provide access to a range of components to cover varying requirements.

Oldenburg Germany and Las Vegas, NV. January 22nd, 2008 – Online photo services converting digital images into traditional photographic paper prints are reaching the volumes of traditional photo labs in the 1990’s. Digital photo processing is a growth industry, but only a few developers have the experience and depth to create complete 'end user to photo lab' software solutions. The specialist Internet software developer ECCE TERRAM will be presenting the latest 'off the shelf', modular software solutions for online photo services, web portals, photo labs and purchasing associations at the international PMA exhibition in Las Vegas in January 2008, including client software and middleware releases currently in preparation.

Photo Lab Software Solutions
Together the Photo Lab Software processing components build flexible, state-of-the-art solutions. These range from order processing using online stores, point-of-sale terminals and offline software clients for Windows, Macintosh and Linux using an open protocol connecting to any photo lab or printer. The PTS middleware processes the orders using a central user database, which allows splitting orders to cover production requirements (e.g. mixed orders for standard prints, posters and gift items). Lab plug-ins built the third layer in ECCE TERRAM’s ‘Photo2Lab’ solution. The lab plug-ins currently support for example DPL, Allcop, ORWO, CeWeColor, DWM and Frontline. Increasingly specialists from the growing sector of photo book, calendar and gift item printing, like Ifuse, Snapmania are being supported by ECCE TERRAM.

The project, Ethanol & Orphans, is looking for celebrities who think it is a good idea and who will endorse the project.  The project sponsor is the not-for-profit charity, Our Family Orphan Communities, Inc.

The Ethanol & Orphans project is currently underway in Vietnam where we will be building a cellulose ethanol refinery and using the profits to build:
 - a Self-sustaining, high-tech, green Community for street orphans where they will be raised in families with surrogate parents and grandparents, given care, skills (job, computer, familiy/life) and supplemental education.
 - a Medical clinic supported by the profits from the refinery so those who cannot afford it can still receive treatment.
 - more care for disabled children (who are still today being born with birth defects from Agent Orange which was used in the war in the 60's and 70's) so they can learn to be self-sufficient even with disabilities.

We are looking for people who care about:
 - improving the environment
 - using less petrochemical fuels
 - helping developing / third world countries to improve
 - street children living barely surviving
 - disabled children who need assistance
 - providing medical/dental care for those who cannot afford it
 - protecting food sources (we will use sugarcane for the refiery, NOT grains)
 - providing education for children, the future leaders of their country
 - and more humanitarian projects

Vietnam Vice President honors Ethanol & Disabled Children/Orphans Project

Bob Miller's picture

Submitted by Bob Miller on Fri, 2007-12-14 04:36.
Report from Executive Director of Our Family Orphan Communities, Inc, on progress with Vietnam Ethanol & Orphans/Disabled Children Project

I have just returned from a trip to Vietnam to see the progress of our project with our partners, the Vietnam Aid Society for Disabled Children (VASDC) and am pleased to be able to report the progress that has been made.

For the last year, our team leader, Mr. Ngon, has been holding meetings with government ministries, officials, private organizations and supporters and has kept things going.

In this photo, he is seen with the President of Vietnam, Nguyen Minh Triet.

While in business, it is rare that itineraries ever go exactly as planned, Mr. Ngon's flexibility and tenacity got us to the people we needed to see and the support that we need to proceed.

A key meeting on this trip was being received by Vice President of Vietnam, Nguyen Thi Doan.

It was wonderful to hear her comments, compliments and support for this project.

Within 4 hours of our meeting, it was on the national television news and the next day in the newspapers. Since then we have already been receiving emails and inquiries from people in other countries as the internet propagates the story.

The public presentation of this project speaks to the commitment that people have to make it happen.

Last year I leaned that the former Vice President of Vietnam, Truong My Hoa, was very involved with VASDC and its activities to help the disabled children.

This trip, in a meeting with Professor Thu, the head of VASDC (and teacher of doctors of acupuncture in several countries), staff of VASDC/HSC and supporters,  I also had the honor to meet with Madame Hoa to talk about the project. She also continues to provide support to ensure this project becomes a reality.

You may recall that in our photos from last year, Mr. Ngon not only had an audience with the President of Vietnam to talk about the project, but he also was able to get a letter from the Prime Minister's office showing us their support and how to move forward with the project.

With this kind of top-down support, it is not a matter of if this project will succeed, it is just a matter of when.

Not only do we have the political support, we have a commitment to provide the land from Ninh Binh Province.

Visiting this historic site of the first capital of Vietnam after they became independent is awe inspiring,

With the province kindly providing a guide we were able to appreciate the significance of this place.

Our day included meeting province officials, bankers, planners and going to visit the potential site where the refinery can be located.

All of the preparation has been done and the potential site offered, it is now time to move forward.

The next step is to do the on-site design, engineering, environmental, marketing and feasibility studies.

The output of this 3 to 4 month step will be a Bankable Feasibility Study with all the details needed to obtain the licenses and permits required by the investment law of Vietnam. It will also aid us in obtaining the funding needed for the construction.

Funding is needed now to do this step. Our partner organizations in Vietnam, VASDC/HSC, are looking into various alternatives to obtain the funds. Our goal at this time is to obtain $10 million dollars which will allow us to keep moving forward.  We are asking for donations (and loans of collateral), not only from the Vietnamese Community, but from all individuals and organizations that think this is a
worthwhile project.

Your donation will help us to provide:
 - over 500 jobs
 - homes and families for street orphans
 - care for children still being born with birth defects due to agent orange
 - free medical care to local citizens
 - job and computer skills
 - cleaner environment
 - economic stimulus
 - renewable fuel
 - and much more.

You will do this by helping us build a cellulose Ethanol Refinery from which the profits will build a Medical Clinic, Self-sustaining, high-tech Community where orphans are raised in families, provide care and training for disabled children and full scholarships for qualified children. Details are on our website at: www.orphancommunities.org
Donations can be on-line at our website or mailed to our tax-exempt, not-for-profit charity at:
Vietnam Ethanol & Disabled Children/Orphans Project,
Our Family Orphan Communities, Inc. P O Box 906 Alamosa, CO 81101-0906

(Make checks payable to Our Family Orphan Communities, Inc.)
Feel free to check our not-for-profit charity status with the Colorado Secretary of State.
We will provide a tax receipt for all donations.
Feel free to contact us with any questions at: info@orphancommunities.org

We are excited about the progress to date and are looking forward to the ground-breaking in 2008.

And, one more thank you to the Southeast Asia, South Asia &
South Pacific
Department of the External Relations Commission, C.C. CPVn for providing a translator for all of our meetings during this trip. Nguyen Anh Nguyet (Moon) was a wonderful asset to ensure complete understanding in all of our meetings. Thanks Moon for all your help (and tips on protocol)!

Thank you all for your ongoing support for Our Family Orphan Communities, Inc. our partners and our projects.

The online photo printing service, founded in 2003 offers its customers a £5 discount on its A4 and new XL photo books.

Cambridge, GB. 26 Nov 2007. – During the first four years thousands of digital camera users have had photo calendars printed with FotoInsight. With the popularity of its photo book service, launched in 2005, the online service started to grow rapidly, so that the company is now operating Europe wide. To celebrate it’s success in its fifth year, FotoInsight is giving away £5 discount vouchers on its large (12”x8”) and XL format photo books (12”x12”).

FotoInsight’s Managing Director Klaas Brumann comments: "We think that your large and XL photo books are the most impressive coffee table photo books from own digital images in the UK. FotoInsight is preparing to accept photo book orders for delivery within the UK in time for Christmas up to the 10th of December. For Soft- and Linen Cover photo books FotoInsight states that it will deliver in time for Christmas if ordered by the 12th of December."

Photo books are a personal present, preserving memories for friends, family and one self. Popular for photographs of memorable events like holidays, a party or wedding photo album, an XL or A4 photo book from FotoInsight will keep the images accessible and preserve colourful memories. In a photo book colours still shine when a SIM-card or CD has long oxidized or become incompatible. Dr. Rolf Hollander, CEO of FotoInsight’s production partner and largest photo finisher in Europe: "Quality is our priority. All materials we use are subject to extensive testing and are guaranteed by their manufacturers to last at least 100 years. This guarantee extends to photo printing on real photographic paper as well as to the photo book."

Tearing down the Costs of Recruitment

The new Cambridge recruitment start-up IBEX Resources Limited is presenting IBEX Logic, which it claims reduces the cost of the recruitment process. The company deals with vacancies predominantly from Technology companies throughout the United Kingdom

Cambridge. 26 Nov 2007. --"Have you ever stopped to wonder how much recruitment fees are costing your organisation?" asks IBEX's founder David Wood and continues: "For larger corporates this can be hundreds of thousands of pounds; and for the SME marketplace several thousands of pounds per year!"  Whichever way you look at it, recruitment fees are generally a lot of money and impact heavily on the bottom line!

IBEX Resources Limited believe they have the solution!  The idea of a true “value for money” proposition first came to IBEX’s founder, David Wood, a few months back.  “We looked at different ways of providing the ultimate solution for companies who recruit.  After looking at various methodologies, we have settled on what we have called IBEX Logic.”

IBEX Logic is an innovative recruitment process.  The client’s vacancy is discussed at length with an IBEX Consultant, so that he or she has a thorough understanding of the requirements.  That vacancy is then worked on by IBEX for 2 weeks (14 days).  During that 2 week period, a shortlist of candidates is provided to the client for them to make direct contact with the candidates.  David Wood added: "In general, candidates prefer to speak directly to the potential employer, and not go through the recruitment agent. And we believe that the client also prefers this direct approach!"
