We at Our Family Orphan Communities, Inc. (OFOC), a not-for-profit charity that is designing and building economically self-sustaining, environmentally green, family-style Communities for street orphans where they will be raised in families with surrogate parents and grandparents are pleased to announce Wing Yan Lam is our volunteer coordinator effective immediately.

Due to our recent growth and participation by volunteers from many countries, including , , , , , , and , we have asked Wing to be our volunteer coordinator and we are happy to have her agree to do it.

In her new position, Wing will act as a communication liaison between OFOC and all its volunteers ensuring they are provided the support they need. She will also be involved in the recruitment and placement of new volunteers.

Wing was born and lived in Hong Kong before she came to the three years ago to study for her bachelor’s degree in psychology. She has been working with OFOC since April 2008. Originally working as a writer, she had written press releases, public service announcements and volunteer recruitment materials. In addition, she has been researching for grants for the Orphan Communities Project.

The Orphan Communities Project is devoted to providing homes, families, healthcare, education and job skills to former street orphans in developing and third-world countries. Its economically self-sustaining nature allows it to be done without government money or constantly having to ask for ongoing donations.
